During the Easter break the Killer hype lived on in the Iron Galaxy Studios as they put on the finishing touches for the launch of Killer Instinct Season 3.
Released on the 29th of March, Killer Instinct Season 3 will give you, right off the bat, Kim Wu, Tusk, Rash and Halo’s Arbiter. There will also be another character dropping every month. In April we will have access to the vampire, Mira. The boss from Killer Instinct 2, Gargos will be making his long awaited return, invading consoles in May and two new characters will drop in the following months, one of which we know will be General RAAM from Gears of War.
Later this season a new re-playable single player mode will be introduced, called Shadow Lords. In this mode you will assemble your strongest team to take on Gargos and his cronies in a battle across the world. Purchase of the Ultra Edition will land you early access to all the new, incoming fighters as well as eight retro costumes and accessories.
Season 3 launches simultaneously with the Windows 10 version and cross-play multiplayer is available to both formats with the game. All of your purchased characters from the Xbox One version will also carry over to the Windows 10 version which also supports 4k visuals.
The only original Killer Instinct character that has not been announced is Eyedol. Do you think he will be making a return along side Gargos?

ARIA: Welcome to the Ultratech private holding facilities, prisoner 1857339. You have been given a stimulant to awaken you from the effect of the tranquilizer dart. You will be groggy at first. Sit up and take a sip of water from the feeding tube in the wall.
PRISONER # 1857339: Wha…where…[unintelligible] Where the [expletive] am I?
ARIA: You are in a cell in an Ultratech facility. There is no escape. Do not be alarmed. You are not injured.
Earlier this week, a new version of the Arbiter’s reveal trailer went up with a great teaser at the end of it.This was practically confirmed during a stream with one of the developers a few weeks back.
It was also announced that Tusk will join the fight in Season 3. In Killer Instinct 2, Tusk was a blood thirsty barbarian warrior with a craving for battle.
It will be nice to see how his journey will fit in with the newly extended back stories of Season one and two roster.
We are down to the last three characters of the Season 2 roster. This week is all about the everlasting child that protects her village from intruders. The spirit-girl, Hisako.
The year that Chiharu was born the peach tree blossoms clung to their trees longer than anyone could remember, and so her mother and father gave her a name that meant “One thousand springs”. She was the eldest daughter of a rōnin; a samurai without a leader, for her father’s shōgun had been assassinated by a rival, and Chiharu’s father had returned to the village of his birth to start a family and become a farmer.
The rest of Hisako’s backstory can be read over at Ultra-Combo. In the meantime check out and support this player who has a Hisako in reserve, a player from the KI World Cup, KI4LIFE.
Next month Killer Instinct Season 3 will drop and with that another guest character, Arbiter has joined the good fight and is looking amazing! Shown off today during the Halo World Championships he comes wielding a energy sword and a Covenant Carbine as he takes the grand stage and dishes out damage to anyone who stands before him.
Who else is excited for Arbiter and this amazing looking stage!?
The three faced Golem known as Aganos has walked the earth for many years and still he searches for the age-old sorcerer, Kan-Ra, never giving up on the task at hand. Read on to see how he and his brethren were created and the path that lays ahead.
Over three thousand years ago the legendary Mycenaean people flourished in Greece. Their thriving citadel stood high atop a hill, surrounded by a Cyclopean wall—a bastion made of enormous boulders so huge that men who came after believed only giants could have moved these rocks into place.
As always the rest of the newly extended backstory can be read over at Ultra-Combo. Check out the greatest Aganos main player which is none other than.. Zergkiller.
We are back again with a new Killer Instinct back story thanks to the people over at Ultra-Combo. Although he had no playable story mode when he launched in Season 2, Omen did appear briefly in other story lines. The Herald of Gargos is here and with a back story too!
Omen is a blue-hued demon—an Astral being created by the Shadow Lord known as Gargos. Proclaiming proudly to all that he is the “Herald of Gargos,” he serves his master obsequiously. Omen was formed from the very thoughts of his maker, for in the Astral Plane certain powerful creatures like Gargos—a member of a race of demigods called Ikkorans—can force reality to bend to their imaginings; and through sheer force of will create “living” beings.
The rest of Omen’s story can be read over at Ultra-Combo, It will be intresting to see if Omen will have a playable story line when Season 3 drops in March, what do you think?
Check out the player who won Evo 2015 and the Killer Instinct World Cup. He uses a range of characters and is pretty beastly with them all, even Omen. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Rico Suave.
Today you can go on a little journey of your own with the new Killer Instinct back story as you learn how to purchase, unbox and even take care of your newly purchased Riptor unit with this handy little guide.
Congratulations! You’ve bought yourself a Riptor Unit! Your adventure has just begun!
Ultratech doesn’t always look to the future to find the solutions to military development. Sometimes, we look to the past. So it was with the Riptor project. My mentor, the brilliant genetic engineer Dr. Erin Gupte, believed in a beautiful dream: a ruthless adaptable predator that could rely on its own victims for sustainment, and could maneuver and infiltrate areas where the Fulgore line would never be able to function. [UTM: Can we change the word “victims” to “rivals” or something less pejorative? It makes the Ripter units seem like bullies.]
you can enjoy the rest of this detailed Riptor guide over at Ultra-Combo.
Check out these great Riptors! Fiyah Liger and Paul B, who is one of the top Saberwulf mains but has a Riptor unit hidden away until needed.
