Bungie Reveals Destiny Launch and Beta Dates

destiny logo

The next step for Bungie since leaving the Halo Universe was the creation of Destiny, a multi-platform game that represented a new beginning – and now it has finally been dated. Both Bungie and Activision has announced that the worldwide launch of Destiny will happen on September 9th 2014. Before launch a Beta will kick off in the summer of 2014, available first on Playstation consoles.

Bungie speaks out on their official blog:

“We first shared the design pillars of Destiny less than one year ago. We promised to redefine what players should expect from a Bungie game. We said we wanted to change the way people play games together. We set our bar high. For us, Destiny represents a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Since then, Destiny has continued to reveal its promise. Every new build brings us closer to our original vision. With those goals in sight, we intend to use every moment from now until the release of the game to ensure that Destiny lives up to your expectations, and our own.”

Any more news in the near future, we’ll deliver… 2014 is looking to be an exciting year for Xbox One!

Xbox One Heading For a December 2013 Launch?

XboxOne_RGB_stacked

Xbox One, the controversial new generation gaming/media centre from Microsoft could end up succeeding where the Philips CDi failed in that it does more than play games. Gamers the world over are crying out anti-consumer issues because of the focus of the recent reveal not primarily centred around games, doubled with the confusion over the used games market and DRM requirements it has left a bitter trail across the internet!

Recently, during a great Xbox Guide video demo for Wired as shown below, Microsoft Principal Development Manager of Live TV, Ashley Speicher, stated “the company is working hard on the console and that, when it’s going to be released in seven months, customers won’t even recognize it.” This possible slip of the tongue positions the launch window for Microsoft’s new Xbox One console for December 2013, and not November as per the assumption of many.

Microsoft had stated explicitly that the Xbox One reveal was to be in two stages, the first on May 21st was a hardware showcase only with the emphasis on gaming and other details surrounding the console to be announced during the E3 2013 event in the coming weeks.

Halo 4 Castle Map Pack Out April 8

Halo-4-Review

343 Industries has announced that the Castle Map Pack for Halo 4 will be launching Monday 8th April. Developed by Certain Affinity, in collaboration with 343 Industries, the Castle Map Pack brings players three stunning, medium-to-large maps that emphasise vehicular warfare and large battles over open spaces, where team strategy is key to successfully conquering the battlefield.

To offer a glimpse of the new maps – check out the trailer below:

New Battlegrounds: Castle Map Pack

Daybreak: Two UNSC bases oppose each other in this large asymmetrical map. Teams must split focus between attacking the enemy base while playing close defense to their own. Claim your team’s sniper rifle to cover the central Man Cannon, or grab a Warthog to push through the side channels and flank the enemy base. The Rocket Launcher and Banshee both spawn in positions diagonal to the starting bases; claiming their firepower early is crucial to land the first flag cap or take an early lead in kills.

Outcast: Controlling vehicle paths is critical in this circular map set in a desert environment. Outcast features frequent Mantis vs. Wraith battles, so teams must keep their drivers informed with constant communication to get the drop on enemy vehicles. While driving the Mantis, you can target fusion coils in tunnels to flush out camping opponents directly into your rain of fire, or cover your flag runner’s dash to a friendly Warthog. If you find yourself without a vehicle, race to the secondary bases to secure a power weapon or drop on enemies for a game-changing hijack.

Perdition: Blending long sightlines, vehicles, and close-quarters combat, Perdition caters to nearly any gameplay style. Wheelmen and gunners will be right at home in this urban environment as a well-placed Warthog can lock down a quarter of the map, securing valuable ordnances for the team. Learning the interior routes is essential to both escaping danger and finishing off ranged kills. Be sure to look for the Gravity Hammer in Power Station 3 – an ideal revenge weapon against a pesky sniper or a big surprise for an enemy Warthog.

New Playlist: “Castle DLC”: The Castle Map Pack brings a new playlist to the War Games experience called “Castle DLC,” a six versus six playlist that focuses on both team play and co-ordinated objective gameplay.

The Castle Map Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft Points. Players who have purchased the “Halo 4” War Games Map Pass* or “Halo 4” Limited Edition game will receive access to all three Map Packs (Crimson, Majestic, and Castle) at a 15 percent savings versus purchasing them individually.
