Metro Redux Confirmed for Xbox One

metro last light 1

Just as I was about to write about a rumour that Metro Redux, an enhanced collection of Metro titles is said to be heading for Xbox One from 4A Games; I spotted that the developers’ have now confirmed its existence.

“Metro Redux. You may have heard of it… even though you probably shouldn’t have!” is quoted on the games official blog, “We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumour and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write.”

So the developers continued with a confirmation that Metro Redux is real and will be properly announced around E3 2014. The original leak which you can find just by a quick search shows some outdated material and some quickly thrown together logo’s for the cover to confirm it contains Metro 2033, Metro Last Light and extra DLC content.

When more information comes to light, we’ll be sure to share it – for now though, try to think of Metro Last Light in all its glory on Xbox One, the new home for PC ports!

Metro: Last Light receives final DLC

Metro Last Light DLC Chronicles

Deep Silver and 4A Games today released the Chronicles Pack for Metro: Last Light. Featuring three original solo missions, this final piece of DLC invites players to step into the shoes of some of Metro: Last Light’s enduring characters in gripping plotlines that run parallel to the story of the main game’s protagonist Artyom.

We hope fans of Metro: Last Light have enjoyed the additional content, it has allowed us to experiment with some new gameplay ideas such as the ‘Ranger’ mission from the Faction Pack and the Tower Pack, and we have paid close attention to all the feedback. But we think the Chronicles Pack will be the fans’ favourite as it contains three unique story-based missions  featuring some of the game’s best-loved characters.

said Andrew Prokhorov, Creative Director at 4A Games.

The Chronicles Pack also features the Multi Barreled Bicycle Shotgun – the extraordinary fan designed weapon that 4A Games discovered online and, after seeking out the creator (Alexandre Bannwarth, a first year design student from New Zealand), re-created in-game.

The last of Metro’s planned add-on content, the Chronicles Pack costs just $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99 and is also included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass, which at $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99  for the Faction, Tower, Developer and Chronicles Packs, offers a discount over buying the DLC separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.

Metro LL Faction Pack Screen 02

Deep Silver has announced the first DLC for their massively popular Metro: Last Light. The brand new ‘Faction Pack’ is set for worldwide release on Xbox LIVE from July 16th. Set to include three original single player missions, each one casting the player as a different specialist from the warring Factions.

Returning to some classic locations from Metro 2033, these new missions feature brand new weapons, the return of a truly terrifying mutant foe, and offer three distinct gameplay challenges:

As a Special Detachment Sniper of the Redline, players must infiltrate a heavily guarded Reich Outpost at night, under the cover of a deadly radioactive storm…

before defending the front line as a Reich ‘Heavy’, armed with some of the most devastating weaponry found in the Metro.

Lastly, players take the role of a Polis Ranger in training, tasked with exploring the vast Library complex for artifacts and relics. Salvage can be exchanged for ammunition, filters and hazard suits allowing ever deeper exploration into the Library. Rangers are advised to light torches and leave a trail of lights so they can find their way back to the base before their precious oxygen runs out…

The Faction Pack will cost 400 MSP (varies for dash beta testers) and is the first of four DLC packs to be included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass that offers a discount over buying the packs separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.

Lastly the Chronicles Pack will feature original single player missions that cast the player as three of the game’s standout characters – Pavel, Khan and Anna – and explore their side-stories away from Artyom’s adventure

4A Games Release The Mobius Trailer for Metro: Last Light

4A Games, the development studio and creator of the smash-hit game, Metro: Last Light, has today released an extraordinary asset for the game. The Mobius was created by Alexander Bereznyak, aka Monakh, who was originally employed by 4A as a capture artist. Soon it turned out that his talent was needed in the production team and he took over the role as lead technical artist. But over a couple of months, he continued to work alone on this trailer.

You can view the trailer, and read more about how the project came to life above.

ThisisXbox.com reviewed Metro: Last Light and scored it an impressive 9/10.
