Microsoft Studios have announced that the long awaited, and Xbox One X launch title, Crackdown 3 will be delayed until 2018, to ensure that “We can make sure we deliver all the awesome that Crackdown fans want” said Shannon Loftis, Microsoft Studios Publishing General Manager, on Twitter.
Whilst clearly disappointing news to hear, I would rather have a fully working, high quality Crackdown game to play than a broken, mess of a game early. Rumours that all was not well with the game surfaced at E3 this year, with no multiplayer seen or heard from at the show.
The official twitter account for ReCore has spoken for the first time since July 3rd, and has teased an upcoming announcement on August 20th, which co-incides nicely with Gamescom. Nothing official, but it does seem likely that this will be the release of a definitive edition with HDR support and a new corebot also available. It may (fingers crossed) also get Xbox One X 4K support!
I must admit that ReCore passed me by, but Rich reviewed it for Tix and gave it a solid score, and you can read that review right here – ReCore review
Watch this space for the official news once its announced, presumably at the Xbox briefing, which we will try to cover in as much detail as possible as it happens!
ReCore is an action-adventure platform video game originally released on the Xbox One in September 2016. The story tracks Joule Adams, one of the first volunteers for the utopian colony of Far Eden, who wakes after centuries in cryo-sleep to find that nothing has gone according to plan. With her three robotic machines known as corebot companions, Joule ventures throughout Far Eden to uncover the secrets behind the failed mission. The open world environment of Far Eden is subject to exploration and the collection of resources. Joule’s weapons are color-coded to inflict damage on a particular set of enemies and, like her companions, can also be enhanced. The corebots support her in battle and puzzle solving.

PRISONER # 1857339: Wha…where…[unintelligible] Where the [expletive] am I?
ARIA: You are in a cell in an Ultratech facility. There is no escape. Do not be alarmed. You are not injured.
Earlier this week, a new version of the Arbiter’s reveal trailer went up with a great teaser at the end of it.This was practically confirmed during a stream with one of the developers a few weeks back.
It was also announced that Tusk will join the fight in Season 3. In Killer Instinct 2, Tusk was a blood thirsty barbarian warrior with a craving for battle.
It will be nice to see how his journey will fit in with the newly extended back stories of Season one and two roster.
We are down to the last three characters of the Season 2 roster. This week is all about the everlasting child that protects her village from intruders. The spirit-girl, Hisako.
The year that Chiharu was born the peach tree blossoms clung to their trees longer than anyone could remember, and so her mother and father gave her a name that meant “One thousand springs”. She was the eldest daughter of a rōnin; a samurai without a leader, for her father’s shōgun had been assassinated by a rival, and Chiharu’s father had returned to the village of his birth to start a family and become a farmer.
The rest of Hisako’s backstory can be read over at Ultra-Combo. In the meantime check out and support this player who has a Hisako in reserve, a player from the KI World Cup, KI4LIFE.

Over three thousand years ago the legendary Mycenaean people flourished in Greece. Their thriving citadel stood high atop a hill, surrounded by a Cyclopean wall—a bastion made of enormous boulders so huge that men who came after believed only giants could have moved these rocks into place.
As always the rest of the newly extended backstory can be read over at Ultra-Combo. Check out the greatest Aganos main player which is none other than.. Zergkiller.
We are back again with a new Killer Instinct back story thanks to the people over at Ultra-Combo. Although he had no playable story mode when he launched in Season 2, Omen did appear briefly in other story lines. The Herald of Gargos is here and with a back story too!
Omen is a blue-hued demon—an Astral being created by the Shadow Lord known as Gargos. Proclaiming proudly to all that he is the “Herald of Gargos,” he serves his master obsequiously. Omen was formed from the very thoughts of his maker, for in the Astral Plane certain powerful creatures like Gargos—a member of a race of demigods called Ikkorans—can force reality to bend to their imaginings; and through sheer force of will create “living” beings.
The rest of Omen’s story can be read over at Ultra-Combo, It will be intresting to see if Omen will have a playable story line when Season 3 drops in March, what do you think?
Check out the player who won Evo 2015 and the Killer Instinct World Cup. He uses a range of characters and is pretty beastly with them all, even Omen. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Rico Suave.
