Mortal Kombat X goes medieval

Yesterday our friends at NetherRealm studios announced to everyone via twitter that on the 1st March all Mortal Kombat X console players will be receiving a free skin pack.

With the title “Lets get Medieval” the skin pack will contain new looks for Kung Jin, Ferra/Torr and Kotal Khan. The packs release date also happens to coincide with the launch of Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 which all come at a cost, so it’s perhaps a way to keep their existing players happy.

Let us know your thoughts on this and if you intend on picking up Mortal Kombat XL on release?

Earlier today the announcement trailer went up for Mortal Kombat XL, featuring the main game and all additional characters and skin packs in Kombat pack 1 and 2, a better online netcode and play on the pit, Koming 1st March 2016 digitally and in stores. So if you’ve not yet dipped in on any DLC or are looking to get your fix of carnage with the game at all, this is the version will be ideal for you. unfortunately there will be no Kombat pack 2 on PC so this pack will only see Xbox One and PS4.

New Mortal Kombat X characters revealed

mkx kombat pack 2

Announced earlier today at the Video Game Awards, the long-awaited Kombat Pack 2 was announced for Mortal Kombat X.

For what seems like an eternity, Mortal Kombat game legend and ‘X’ director, Ed Boon, has been teasing us with all sorts of concepts and pictures to what we could expect to see and finally they have been revealed.

Joining the cast in 2016 in the DLC will be what seems like an interchangeable cyborg combo of Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke, Bo Rai Cho, Leather Face from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Xenomorph from Alien!

I knew the Xenomorph would end up in MKX eventually and can only imagine what an Alien vs Predator face off will be like. Come on 2016!

Alien coming to Mortal Kombat X?

A second Kombat Pack could soon be announced for Mortal Kombat X.

There has been a lot of speculation since the release of Tremor that a second Kombat pack will soon be on the way. Ed Boon has not confirmed or denied a Kombat Pack 2, but he does love to tease on his Twitter. He posted this a while back to showing off all Kombat pack 1 characters.

Now we all know Ed loves Alien and has posted a few things relating to it recently, Ed posted this pic on his twitter earlier today which I would say Alien is coming and there is a Kombat Pack 2.

There are a few non-playable characters from the story mode in Mortal Kombat X, Baraka, Rain, Sindel and Smoke. There could be a slew of characters coming to MKX in a way of more Kombat Packs in the future and one I can not wait to see is the infamous Spawn who was granted access to Mortal Kombat X by Todd McFarlane way back in Feburary but has not been used as of yet.

The Black Dragon Clan rises once again, Tremor is here and looking fierce in his HD debut trailer. His appearance has changed a lot since the days of Mortal Kombat: Special Forces.

Early access is coming on July 21st for Kombat pack owners along with Klassic skins pack #2 containing Kung Lao, Jax and Quan-Chi, while releasing on July 28th as separate purchases for everyone else.

Predator coming to Mortal Kombat X

Series creator Ed Boon, renowed for teasing us with announcements on Twitter, tweeted this week saying

Recreate the Predator Movie (Komplete with Carl Weathers Jax) in Mortal Kombat X. Koming Soon…

This was accompanied by the screenshot below, clearly showing Predator and Jax squaring off against one another.

Predator will become the third DLC character to be released sometime in July following Jason Vorhees and Tanya. All three characters along with Tremor were previously confirmed to be a part of the Kombat Pack DLC, the pack can be purchased via the Xbox store here. If however you don’t want to purchase the pack or the individual character DLC then you will just have to be patient as all new DLC characters may be playable in the future in the game’s Challenge Tower event.
