OlliOlli coming to Xbox One

olliolli-logo-landscape

Earlier today we received word that the self proclaimed, notorious street thugs Curve Digital and Roll7 have announced a new collaboration ; OlliOlli. OlliOlli is a finger-skate-em-up aiming to kick-flip itself over your couches and grind all up on your Xbox One in 2015. Seriously – I’ll be claiming for any damages!

For the seriously out-of-touch, OlliOlli is a 2D side-scrolling skateboard game crafted by Roll7 from a solid block of pure raditude. This ain’t your grandpa’s skating game – OlliOlli throws you feet first into high-risk, high-reward skate lines where ‘just one more trick’ can mean the difference between pulling off a gnarly combo and becoming just a smear on the concrete.

Players will be tearing up over 250 challenges across 100 levels, utilizing the 120+ tricks at their disposal as they compete for the highest score amongst their peers and other skater strangers.

Previously released for Sony consoles, all of the wild features return in full for the new versions, such as all four game modes, including the nails-hard RAD mode and the Daily Grind, which sees players worldwide competing on the same line for the highest score possible.

The game’s release is scheduled for early 2015, when you can finally pop shove-it into your Xbox One. As always, keep an eye on ThisisXbox for new details as we get them.

Paranormal platformer Extreme Exorcism

EELOGO

Have you ever felt an eerie presence in an empty room? Or heard spine-chilling footsteps in the dead of night? You’re not alone.

Indie developers Golden Ruby Games and Ripstone Publishing have found undeniable evidence of a supernatural force at work on this All Hallow’s Eve. They’re teaming up to bring paranormal platformer Extreme Exorcism to Xbox One and PC in 2015.

Extreme Exorcism is an arena platformer where all of your actions will come back to haunt you…

Take on the role of extreme exorcist Mae Barrons, whose unconventional supernatural skills are called upon when everything and everyone else has failed to rid a haunted house of its ghostly presence.

Mae’s approach is a little extreme, but a cross, holy water and a Bible just won’t cut it with these ghosts. She’s armed with swords, guns, grenades, mines, rocket launchers, razor-sharp boomerangs, lightning spells, Kung-Fu moves and much more.

Each time a ghost is eliminated another will appear to mimic your every move – so tread carefully, or prepare to reap what you sow. The longer you survive, the more extreme the game becomes.

Just how extreme is it?

  • Story mode covers the ten areas of the haunted mansion culminating in a boss fight
  • Comprehensive local multiplayer: non-stop ghost annihilation for up to 4 players
  • Story mode playable both co-operatively and solo
  • Customizable death match mode – change the weapon set, how ghosts spawn and the abilities they possess
  • Online leaderboards allow you to compare your scores with the wider world
  • Challenge mode: specific rule setups that encourage extreme play

The zombies at Golden Ruby Games have risen from the grave, with help from the necromancers at Ripstone, to bring you the thrilling title; Extreme Exorcism. You’ll need serious paranormal powers if you ever hope to beat this devilishly difficult action platformer” – Mike Christatos,Founder & President of Golden Ruby Games.

Ripstone also look forward to partnering with Golden Ruby Games and helping the team bring Extreme Exorcism to wider audience on multiple platforms.

“It’s widely known that at Ripstone we use witchcraft to help great indie games find audiences, so we’re delighted Golden Ruby chose to partner with us on Extreme Exorcism.” says Ripstone’s Creative Director Phil Gaskell, “The game has a spookily good spin on the use of ghost replays, and in competitive multiplayer it’s an absolute scream!”

FORCED coming to Xbox One

forced

We all know about GDC, right? Game Developers Conference? It’s happening right now in San Francisco, so if you didn’t know about it… shame on you. One of this years developer attendees was Danish Indie studio; BetaDwarf, the guys that literally lived, slept and ate together for 3 years to release their epic Action-Arena-RPG; FORCED. In case you don’t know their story, please check it out at the bottom of the page.

We’re super excited to be working with the newest console technology, and we are really happy to be able to let a whole new group of potential gladiators experience our game.

says BetaDwarf CEO Steffen Kabbelgaard.

After an incredible production, that included living illegally in an unused university classroom, a team working for no pay up front, a Kickstarter, and personal loans as security, FORCED launched in October 2013 to great reviews and sales in excess of 150,000 copies. And now, BetaDwarf and Xbox are coming together to bring the game to the next console generation through ID@Xbox, the self-publishing program for independent developers on Xbox One.

FORCED has been built from the ground up to support twin-stick controls, as well as online and local multiplayer, so the transition to console is completely natural. And with Xbox One, we won’t have to worry about shortage of computing power.

Steffan Kabbelgaard added.

There is still no firm release date for the Xbox One version of FORCED, but BetaDwarf CEO Steffen Kabbelgaard says, that the process will be “significantly faster” than the development of the original version of the game.

FORCED is a co-operative 1-4 player action RPG, taking place in a mysterious fantasy universe, where players are trapped as gladiators, forced to fight for their lives. Their only help is their Spirit Guide, Balfus, who’s the only one, who can interact with the many magical shrines, scattered about in the arenas.

Combat in FORCED is quick and reaction-based, utilizing a mark system, to allow players to use tactics where they are marking and finishing enemies between them. Players can choose between four different classes, each with its own set of skills and perks. And progress is carried over between classes, letting players experiment without risk.

And here’s the story of FORCED:
