A story on 360Magazine this morning reveals that Eidos does indeed intend to continue the Deus Ex franchise on Xbox One.
In a chat with 360Magazine, Studio Head David Anfossi said the following:
“For now, I hope you are excited about the future of this game that we love so much. Deus Ex is coming to next-gen, it’s early so don’t expect to hear much more from us just yet, but I wanted you to know.”
With only the above piece of concept art to show, there is an awful lot left for us to ponder and ask questions about. I for one am extremely excited and will make sure we bring you all the updates over the coming weeks and months.

Alright I admit it, I love the OWPA (Open World Post-Apocalyptic) genre… and there is a reason for that. My favourite movies of all time are the Mad Max ones. No seriously they are. I own them on VHS, DVD and BluRay. When I was little I would watch them back-to-back at the weekends. I can recite the script now. I was obsessed. It’s why I love titles like Fallout and why the new Ubisoft Tom Clancy title excites me.
So another year and another E3 and thank you Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the news of Mad Max coming to Next-Gen machines. I didn’t even watch the trailer before my mind was made up I would be purchasing this game.
So here comes the trailer and some details from the press release. Enjoy.
Scheduled for release in 2014, Mad Max will deliver dynamic, open-world gameplay where gamers fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using brutal on-ground and vehicular combat against vicious gangs of bandits. Players are challenged with treacherous missions as they scavenge the dangerous landscape for supplies to build the ultimate combat vehicle.
“Mad Max places gamers directly into the driver’s seat of their ultimate customized vehicle to battle it out in the action-packed, open world of The Wasteland,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production & Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “We are very pleased to work with Avalanche Studios to provide a next generation gaming experience with robust fighting paired with dynamic vehicular combat.”
“Over a decade of creating open world experiences has led us to this point,” said Christofer Sundberg, Avalanche Studios Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer. “The Wasteland lends itself incredibly well to the high level of player freedom with which Avalanche Studios has become synonymous. This unforgiving environment inspired us to create a gritty and diverse experience where driving, fighting and scavenging are essential for survival.”
Mad Max is under development by Avalanche Studios. For more information, visit www.madmaxgame.com, Facebook.com/MadMaxGame and Twitter.com/MadMaxGame.
A swedish retailer, Webhallen, has listed quite a substantial amount of next-gen games available for pre-ordering on its website. Some of which has not yet been announced or revealed by their developers or publishers. If it is to be believed, the next Xbox looks like it’s readying up to be a sequel machine.
Here are just some of the games outed:
Need for Speed Rivals
Red Dead Redemption 2
Saints Row 5
Sleeping Dogs 2
Sniper Elite 3
Whore of the Orient
Deus Ex: Human Revolution 2
Dragons Dogma 2
Just Cause 3
Mass Effect 4
Mirrors Edge 2
With E3 2013 fast approaching – we’ll keep you posted on what titles are confirmed to be true during the week of June 10th.
Mad Catz has announced today that it has started working with Microsoft on the development of next generation accessories for the Xbox One. Whilst not confirming which accessories, but headsets and controllers are the most obvious assumptions.
“We are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming launch of the Xbox One and excited about the opportunity to develop a range of innovative products to support the platform.” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “The launch of the Xbox One adds a new revenue stream and the enhanced performance of the Xbox One opens up additional scope for innovation. Today’s announcement demonstrates our continued support of Microsoft’s console and entertainment business and is part of our long-term strategy to bring innovative products to passionate gamers.”
The Xbox One from Microsoft is expected to launch this holiday.
Zynga’s popular Words With Friends which is also similar to the immensely addictive Windows Phone game AlphaJax (Tag: Jason of Duty – you might have shared a few words with me already!), has been outed as an Xbox One compatible game via the Xbox 360’s very own dashboard. Basically it’s a form of Scrabble.
If you head straight to the HOME channel section, in the top right should be an “Xbox One” image which links to a specialised area detailing the new console set for launch later this year. Flicking through the different sections will bring you to the WHAT IT DOES section (*insert DRM joke here*) and the slider image clearly shows Words With Friends.
If you just want to see it for yourself then check out the image below.
I spotted it yesterday, but didn’t pay much attention, since Polygon has posted this as news – now so have we!
Have you all calmed down? Caught your breath? Worked out how many organs you’ll need to sell to then afford the new Xbox One? The answer to all 3 questions from me is yes. But whoa… what a day so far, right? Well let’s now talk about CryENGINE 3.
Videogame developer and publisher Crytek GmbH have spoken out and welcomed the unveiling of Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, reiterating that their CryENGINE 3 technology is equipped to start creating software for the system now. Take a read of the press release below and try not to keep screeching like a girl… I am failing at that.
Crytek recently became an officially licensed provider of middleware and tools for Xbox One, and will support the platform as well as equipping CryENGINE 3 licensees with the advanced toolset required to achieve their own games for the system.
“We offered assurances over two years ago that CryENGINE 3 was ready for the next generation of consoles, and time has revealed that promise to be true,” said Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development at Crytek. “As developers begin to create new games for Xbox One, our technology and unparalleled support will ensure CryENGINE 3 users remain at the forefront of the industry now and well into the future.”
Crytek’s CryENGINE 3 is used by licensees around the world to create blockbuster hits and popular online games, and is the first all-in-one development solution that provides multi-award winning graphics, and all necessary game systems and tools, out of the box.
Ahead of the new-gen XBOX reveal set for tomorrow which can be viewed online at Xbox.com or via the console from 6pm BST UK Time, around 1pm in the US, a new trademark for “Forza Vista” has surfaced on the USPTO.gov website from Microsoft.
It has specifically been trademarked for “a feature of interactive video game software which allows players to obtain statistical information of internal and external features of a vehicle and to virtually navigate and operate those vehicles.” This suggests that a new Forza game announcement should follow soon and that it’ll likely have Forza Vista as some Xbox Smartglass tool (more than likely).
Although nothing has yet been announced by Microsoft, you can bet your bollocks that as an exclusive Xbox franchise this will be announced alongside the new XBOX console reveal.
We can’t wait! Expect us to post all the announcements tomorrow following the reveal itself.
