Abe’s Odyssey was one of the first titles I played when my parents bought me a brand new PlayStation – that was many years ago, and more than I care to remember! Oddworld Inhabitants have reimagined the Mudokon’s endeavours into a swanky new 2.5D adventure that was previously only available to the PS4. Now, finally after waiting patiently (and thanks to the ID@Xbox program) Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will release on March 27 for Xbox One, priced at $19.99, €19.99 and £14.99.
Does anyone else here remember Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee from the Playstation? I played it until the disc wore out. This little alien had me platforming around and figuring out puzzles for hours.
Well, taking over from original developers, GT Interactive, Just Add Water have announced a release date for this remake of the 1997 classic and the good news is, it’s coming out on Xbox One.
With the PS4 version already around since July last year, we were ever hopeful of a One release and although it’s not coming out on the 360, or at least, there’s no mention of it, us lucky Xbox One owners can expect Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty to be available in early March.
This version will take advantage of some of the fan requests from the PS4 version, such as classic control settings and the celebrated QuikSave and QuikLoad functions.
The story will take Abe, a Mudokon floor-waxer, from potential meat-pie filling to Mudokon rescuer extraordinaire, with a little bit of help from you of course.
So, expect Abe to be wandering around RuptureFarms again in the very near future.
