What Is in Your Destiny? – October 4th, 2017

Guardians, I welcome you to see What Is in Your Destiny! This weekly report will give a brief rundown on what communique has been received from the Vanguard leadership over at Bungie.

Let’s first welcome our new overlords, Dead Orbit. For those who had been living on IO for the past week, let me recap what has transpired.

Other Guardians, like you and I, were tasked with returning faction items to the representatives of three longstanding factions; Dead Orbit, the Future War Cult, and New Monarchy. The faction who had the best representation – quantity over quality here, I am afraid – would be rewarded with a huge discount on a specific weapon, in the case of Dead Orbit, a Scout Rifle. I am sure I heard Shaxx shouting about the rifle, one phrase I picked up…. DISAPPOINTING, GUARDIANS. Anyways, I am not here to imprint my beliefs on you, no matter how much we need to prepare for any future wars.

I’ll see you in orbit, Guardians.

PS: This just in! The one with more post-launch housekeeping.

Fixed an issue in which players could lose access to the Veteran’s Transmat Effect by deleting characters
Fixed an issue in which clan engrams would grant Trials of the Nine and raid rewards at only 10 Power
Fixed an issue in which the action button on Faction Rallies emblems displayed Discard instead of Store

Fixed an issue in which progress for the Exotic Quest Step “His Highness’s Seal” was not incrementing properly

Fixed an issue in which raid milestones would not show for some players after the weekly reset (This didn’t affect any raid rewards)
Fixed an issue in which players could enter a state where they are continuously killed if they finish a raid encounter at the exact moment of failure

Added invisible physics and kill volumes to keep players inside the intended playable area on the following maps:
Altar of Flame
Emperor’s Respite
Legion’s Gulch
The Dead Cliffs
Added invisible physics to all stairs in The Dead Cliffs to allow grenades to bounce properly
Adjusted spawning system values to reduce the frequency of players respawning into dangerous situations on all maps

If any of these issues aren’t fully resolved, please allow the next weekly reset to come and pass to see if they are on delay.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Havoc DLC and weapon balance patch released

Battlefield 4 – Xbox One Title Update Lands

Battlefield 4 on Xbox One has been plagued with issues since its release, and players have had to wait quite some time for the title update to address them. But today the update lands on Xbox LIVE and has a long list of fixes that it will address:

Dec 19 Xbox One Game Update Notes
-Reduced the probability of the “Kill trade” issue (see below for details).
-Fixed a common crash that could occur during gameplay.
-Fixed an issue that could corrupt save files in the single player campaign.
-Fix for the game mode specific ribbons being counted twice in the multiplayer progression.
-Fix for a graphical glitch that could appear on terrain.
-Fix for the SUAV (introduced in the China Rising expansion pack) not exploding when hitting enemy soldiers. While these indeed should be deadly, they were never designed for “roadkilling” opponents.
-Fix for an issue where 4x the damage from a vehicle’s minigun would be applied to the chest when a player had the Defense specialization equipped.
-Servers that friends are playing on now have a higher priority in the server list.
-Server Browser is no longer showing empty or full servers by default.
-Balancing jet handling across all stealth and attack jet classes.
-Fixed a bug in Defuse mode where defenders could win a round by killing all the attackers without disarming the bomb. If the attackers arm the bomb, the defenders need to disarm it to win, even if they have killed all the attackers.
-Fix for a Defuse bug where none of the teams would win a round by letting the timer run out.
-Fix for players getting stuck in the revive screen.
-Fix for players getting stuck in the kill camera after being revived. Note that you might see a graphical bug on-screen after being revived when accepting a revive within 1 second. This graphical bug will be removed in the next patch.
-Fixed the instance where players suddenly would transition into Spectator Mode while playing the Defuse game mode.
-Fix for the death camera/screen being displayed too early.
-Raised the first-person camera slightly for walking in crouch to more accurately reflect the actual position of the character.
-Fixed an issue with the party chat app not working.
-Fixed an issue in the in-game Battlelog where non-ASCII characters would display incorrectly.
-Fixed an issue when maps were not loading properly while player didn’t have the game in full screen.

Kill trading issue
We’ve addressed the so-called “Kill trading”. This refers to when two players fire at each other and, seemingly, both die at the same time. The time window where a bullet could cause damage from an already dead player is now calculated as intended, decreasing the time frame when players with high latency could get a kill, even though they should be dead according to the server. This should reduce the probability of kill trading.

The update includes fixes with the aim to increase the general stability of the game, and eliminates bugs that players may have experienced.

  • – Duration of Fitness Regimen, Combat Training, Big Meal, Feast, and Firearms Practice changed from 3 real-time days to 2 game-time hours (where “game time” means time playing the game, not counting time that elapses while you are paused or logged out) so you get the full benefit of the bonus while you are actually playing the game.
