Lifting the hood on next Need for Speed update

NeedforSpeed_snapshotpro

So the momentum keeps going and next Wednesday, February 3rd, Need for Speed gets its next anticipated update appropriately named Showcase. So what treats do the guys have in store for us:

Snapshot Pro
Building an awesome ride is only part of the fun, the other is showcasing it for the world to see and now this can now be done with Snapshot Pro, a mode which will allow you to create some stunning photos of your favourite car.

Hit start to get to phone screen, then select Snapshot Pro from the phone menu. You’ll then be able to manoeuvre the camera around the car, apply a number of custom settings such as depth of field, brightness, contrast, vignette, saturation and more. You’ll also be able to apply a number of pre-set filters, allowing you to achieve great results in a very short amount of time.

Wrap Sharing
How you car looks is just as important as how you race and from experience in Forza and other games custom wraps and vinyls are king. Therefore its great news to see that Wrap Sharing is now included.

Wrap Sharing has been one of the most requested features to date and because of this it has now become a new option within the Paint and Wrap section that will allow you to browse and download wraps shared by other players. If you’re a wrap creator then simply mark your creation as shareable and it’ll show up for everyone else.

Downloading and applying a community made wrap is as easy as heading into the community wrap section in the ‘Paint and Wrap’ section, finding one that you like and hitting the download button. Once downloaded you’ll then be able to apply it to your ride and even edit and tweak it should you wish.

Customization Items
Customization continues to be a really talked about subject and because of this another 100+ new customization items will be available in this update.

In total, eleven new cars will be getting new parts:

  • Ford Focus RS
  • Chevrolet Camaro Z28
  • BMW M3 E92
  • Ford Mustang Boss 302
  • Ford Mustang Foxbody
  • Ford Mustang GT
  • Mazda MX5 (2015)
  • NISSAN 180sx Type X
  • NISSAN Silvia Spec-R
  • SUBARU BRZ Premium
  • SUBARU Impreza WRX

Multiplayer
Want to test your skills against other people? Try the new “Competitive” option at the front menu which will see you placed in a game with other players who are also looking to race competitively. Or, select “Alldrive” and you can experience Need for Speed as it is now.

License Plates
You’ll now have the option to customize the license plate on your car, giving you even more options to personalize your ride.

You’ll be able to choose from a selection of backgrounds from past NFS games including; Redview, Fairhaven, Palmont City, Rockport, Olympic City, Bayview and Tri City Bay. Alongside the backgrounds you’ll also be able to apply a number of frames to complete the look.

Gas Stations
Players of earlier NFS games will be familiar with the gas stations and their ability to repair your car. Something thats been requested by the NFS community, is that you wanted this functionality brought back. You missed the option of having your car look new again, instead of having to wear the scars of racing until you ventured back to the garage.

As such, all gas stations in Ventura Bay will now repair your car, free of charge. Simply drive your car through the station and it’ll be looking as good as new. And to help you out further, all gas stations will become points of interest on the map.

New Trophies and Achievements
Three new trophies and achievements will be added to the game, go out and earn them all:

  • Filter Addict – Take a Snapshot with a Filter in Snapshot Pro Mode
  • Wrap Artist – Share a Wrap with the Need for Speed Community
  • Climbing the Ranks – Reach Monthly Rank 10 by completing Daily Challenges

Full Patch Notes

  • New Feature: Wrap Sharing
  • New Feature: Snapshot Pro Mode
  • A new “Splash” screen which gives players information on what is included in the new updates from the Living Game
  • A new Snapshot overview screen in the Need for Speed Network menu so you can find out more about your snapshots
  • Improvements to Kickbacks and likes on snapshots
  • 100+ new customization items for a variety of cars
  • License plates are back. Apply around 10 different license plates to your car for more in depth customization

  • Drive through a Gas Station and repair your car on the fly.
  • A variety of tweaks and improvements including AI, player feedback, Gameplay and World

  • Multiple stability fixes

Again great news for Need for Speed players but feel free to drop us a line and let us know your thoughts and if you think the game is heading in the right direction?

Game-of-Thrones

TellTale’s fantastic Game of Thrones episodic series recently launched its second episode on our beloved Xbox One but unfortunately, it hasn’t quite gone according to plan.

Diablo 3 2.1.2 Patch Is Live, Ancient Items & More Added

2556601-0980017126-diablo

A major patch has just gone live for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls edition and it’s added a mountain of new content. Best of all? It’s free!

The 2.1.2 patch which Blizzard teased a while back includes the Ancient tier of items. These Ancient items are a class above the current highest Legendary gear tier but it’s going to be pretty tough to earn it as it can only be found on Torment 1 or higher.

If this new tier of gear isn’t enough, this new patch has also added new legendary items, new set bonuses as well as game fixes.

Full patch notes can be found below or on the Blizzard website.

Ancient Items

  • Ancient items have been added to the game. These items are more powerful versions of existing Legendary items and can be found in Torment I difficulty or higher by slaying monsters, spending Blood Shards with Kadala, and crafting.
  • The drop chance for Ancient items increases with each Torment level.
  • For more information about Ancient items, click here.

New and Updated Legendary Items

Treasure Goblins

  • New Treasure Goblins have been added to the game! Be on the lookout for the Gem Hoarder, Blood Thief, Odious Collector, and Malevolent Tormentor. These additions to our growing goblin family can only be found in Adventure Mode.
  • All Treasure Goblins now appear standing next to a portal and have been given a special mini-map icon in order to increase their visibility.

Nephalem and Greater Rift Updates

  • Players can now use the “Revive at Corpse” option while in Nephalem and Greater Rifts, but the associated respawn timer will increment with every death. In addition, and a result of this change, the “Revive at Checkpoint” option has been removed.
  • Several improvements have been made to monster density, monster damage, and Rift Guardian abilities in both Nephalem and Greater Rifts. Many maps have also received changes to the way their layouts can be generated.
  • Pylons found in Rifts and Greater Rifts have received several improvements, and are now less likely to spawn next to each other.
  • For more information about changes to Nephalem and Greater Rifts, click here

“Healing” Changed to “Recovery”

  • The “Healing” stat on the character sheet has been replaced with “Recovery”.
  • Recovery is an estimate of how much Toughness you are expected to be able to recover in combat and is calculated using a combination of your Healing, Life, and Toughness.

Assassin’s Creed Unity patch 4 suffers a slight delay

Assassins-Creed-Unity

While the majority of Assassin’s Creed Unity’s bugs and glitches have been fixed, Ubisoft was still planning to release a fourth update to knock the final glitches on the head – yes, was… It seems the fourth patch, which was due to go live today, has suffered a slight delay. Now we are all used to delays in-game releases but a patch! We can only hope that Ubisoft are intending this to be the final one and want everything to be tickety-boo.

As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised. We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve.
