Here at TiX we recently published an article detailing our most anticipated games of 2018, and its fair to say that Red Dead Redemption 2 is right up near the top! Originally slated for a spring 2018 release, Rockstar have now confirmed that it will be arriving on October 26th. Another example of a game being pushed back to make sure it is the best that it can be, something we should all applaud.
In a quote on their website, Rockstar Games said;
We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”
The new screenshots released certainly look impressive, and they are all below for your viewing pleasure!
New game plus is activated, it is now +2018. Happy New Game Plus to you all. Following on from TiX’s 2017 Game of the Year, we’d like to present our Most Anticipated Game 2018. The staff here at TiX were asked to provide a list of the games they are most looking forward to this year – based on public knowledge– so no guesses, insider knowledge, or Half-Life 3 requests, please. After you’ve seen our list, please comment below and let us all know what your most anticipated game of 2018 is!
We had 23 submissions, with 15 only being mentioned once. The top spot is occupied by 4 titles from across different formats. Here is the complete list in unique submission order, with the top four and some comments from staff to follow.
Despite what people think of EA, sometimes they manage to pull something out of the bag that wows us all, I have that feeling about Anthem, we may end up disappointed but I’m happy to go along for the ride and see what happens…
I love monster movies, as I type this I have Godzilla on in the background, the 1998 one people seem to hate, but I cannot resist a monster movie. Games of this ilk don’t seem to find their way to me very often so this game has my interest.
… This will be epic! The only question is just how epic! The original was a masterpiece, as Rockstar are experts at creating a living, breathing world with an incredible story. Given the quality jump between GTA4 and GTA5 I find myself salivating at what RDR2 will bring. And the success of GTA Online will surely signal the beginning of Read Dead Online, with posses of Cowboys all causing mayhem in the Wild West. CAN. NOT. WAIT!
Rockstar know how to tease us. Earlier this year they started by changing their social media background to a solid red image, before announcing Red Dead Redemption 2 existed and would be released late 2017. After then announcing an inevitable delay to 2018, they promised more details this summer.
So, with only a few hours of summer left (officially) they released the following tweet.
Nice work Rockstar! So, at the time and date mentioned they officially released a new trailer, and it’s just what this fan had hoped for. And, if they nail the online multiplayer just as they have with GTA Online, then this gamer is pretty much sorted for 2018!
Rockstar have said they need some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
To help ease the pain, they have shown off some fantastic new screenshots which can be found on their blog.
We all know pre-ordering is a big thing especially when it’s for one of the anticipated titles of the year but we also know the secrecy that surrounds the release date and the speculation that goes with it. However occasionally the net slips and the odd date appears on the web getting us all excited as to when a game might hit our shelves. One such title to fall into this category is Red Dead Redemption 2.
A known retailer has posted the pre-order option like all others stores on their website but the only difference is they have put a delivery date of the 2nd October 2017 on it. Now is this the release date of the game, who knows, but it certainly aligns with the Fall 2017 release window that the game has marked on its site. As we have all seen in the past though games with proposed release dates move and change due to further development needed, changing conditions to the market or even the development teams. So for the time being we can pencil this in as a maybe and just keep our fingers crossed.
Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.
Since the announcement just the other day, we’ve all been waiting for this moment, the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, from those lovely people at Rockstar. Have a view below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Excited? I know I am! There will no doubt be lots to analyse when the trailer comes out on Thursday. As soon as it becomes available, we’ll make sure to have it on the site.
A swedish retailer, Webhallen, has listed quite a substantial amount of next-gen games available for pre-ordering on its website. Some of which has not yet been announced or revealed by their developers or publishers. If it is to be believed, the next Xbox looks like it’s readying up to be a sequel machine.
