Project Root announced for Xbox One

Project Root

It’s a good time to be an Indie developer. The new features and power of the Xbox One should mean bigger and more powerful games.

Sometimes, it’s good to just get back to the basics and blow them away with gameplay.

OPQAM, an independent developer from Argentina, along with publisher, Reverb Triple XP are doing exactly this, and has announced that Project Root is coming in 2015 for Xbox One.

Project Root is an open environment, free-roaming shooter where you play as rebel pilot, Lance Rockport. Lance is fully intent on stopping the Prometheus Corporation and their plans for conquering the world. What could Lance have to help him in his quest? Well, he has the F-72 Zonda fighter. This is upgradeable, of course, to help take out the land and air enemies across 8 different levels.

You can also take advantage of special weapon drops to help you defeat the boss levels too.

Take a look at the launch trailer below. I love shoot em ups, and retro shoot em ups get my interest every time.
