Let’s go on a (GTA) Heist

GTA Heists

Ah the GTA Heist, one of my favourite pastimes from the single player campaign of GTAV – why then was it absent from GTA Online? Well the good news is that it won’t be absent for much longer. Heists are coming in “early 2015′ and will allow you and three mates to plan, prepare and rob the rich folk of Los Santos and Blaine County.

Check out the trailer below and prepare yourselves for one great big payday!

GTA V Online: Rockstar To Take Action Against Cheaters

GTA-Online

Rockstar have always been active when it comes to cheating and use of exploits to gain extra RP levels and GTA $ in GTA V Online. Today they took to Twitter to announce that their next wave of “anti Cheating” measures will being today:

The support page has the following Q&A section which explains how, what and when they will begin cleaning up GTA Online of cheating spoils:

Question: I heard that Rockstar Games is taking action against players who cheated to gain illegitimate RP. Is this true?
Answer: In order to keep Grand Theft Auto Online fair for everyone, we are removing illegitimate RP from the accounts of players who hacked or modded to get ahead.

Question: Is this a one-time RP correction or an ongoing process to identify cheaters who cheat to gain levels?
Answer: Both. The first round of RP correction will occur on 5/20/14 to remove illegitimate RP all the way back to GTA Online’s launch in October 2013. After that, we will be running continual, automated sweeps to identify and correct RP violations.

Question: How much RP will be removed from affected accounts?
Answer: We currently plan to revert the Ranks of affected accounts back to the approximate level they were before the violations occurred.

Question: My little brother’s cousin’s best friend was visiting my house in December 2013 and somehow did something that increased my Rank to 1000. I had nothing to do with it. So I don’t mind the Rank correction, but will my account face any other action?
Answer: We don’t plan on taking further action beyond RP reduction when the first round of correction hits on 5/20/14 for players whose accounts show limited modification. But please be warned: accounts found to be hacking or modding to generate illegitimate amounts of RP after 5/20/14 will be subject to further action at our discretion, such as time in the Cheater Pool or Bad Sport Pool. Repeat offenders may also have their accounts reset, experience bans, or have all their GTA$ removed (other than unspent Shark Card funds).

Question: Will corrected accounts still get to keep money and other items gained since the violations?
Answer: Yes. In the first wave of corrections, only RP will be affected. GTA$ and other items will not be affected. However, accounts that incur RP violations after 5/20/14 may face further action.

Question: I gained a ton of RP in 2013 without hacking or modding, by taking advantage of certain mission bugs and exploits before they were fixed. Will my RP be adjusted?
Answer: Your RP should only be adjusted if you participated in mods, hacks, DNS redirects, manipulation of cloud files, or other similarly nefarious behavior. If you grinded short legitimate missions or otherwise gained a small amount of RP without modding, your RP should not be affected by this correction.

Question: I know of a new exploit players are using to gain an unfair advantage in GTA Online. How can I report the method as well as the players using it?
Answer: Please submit all the details to GTAOnlineBanhammer@rockstargames.com. Be sure to include the Platform, Gamertag or PSN ID of reported players, description of the violation along with steps, time/date of the violation, and any concrete evidence you have such as online video or forum links.

GTA Online – Valentine’s Day Massacre Update Now Live

GTA-Online

Well its Valentine’s Day tomorrow so of course Los Santos is also feeling the romance in the air and Rockstar have released the  Valentine’s Day Massacre Special update for GTA Online is now available. The update includes a variety of fun Valentine’s themed extras for Story Mode and GTA Online like the Gusenberg Sweeper machine gun, the new Albany Roosevelt armored limousine (which allows 2 players to ride outside the vehicle) and a host of new attire options like double breasted suits, flapper dresses, sexy undergarments, novelty t-shirts, hats, masks and more. These items are all available to purchase in GTA Online right now until the end of February – and once acquired they’re yours to keep in your inventory for good.

NEW JOBS
This update also has 10 new Jobs across a variety of modes. Here are details on just a few:

  • “Shotgun Wedding” (Team Deathmatch): The title says it all. Small-scale Deathmatch around the church in Paleto Bay that’s locked to shotguns. It’ll be a lot less bloody than divorce.
  • “Property Values” (Deathmatch): Forget about love, nothing’s going to break your heart like the price of real estate. Free for all Deathmatch on an unaffordable cul-de-sac near Mirror Park. Look out for the sniper on the grassy knoll.
  • “Creek” (Parachuting): Nothing says ‘I’m in love’ like throwing yourself out of a chopper with up to seven other idiots. A steep dive, almost skirting the side of the Raton Canyon, gliding into Cassidy Creek.
  • “Vinewood Tours” (Race): Who needs love when you’ve got booze in your belly and stars in your eyes? Lap race for cars and bikes taking in all the tourist sights of Vinewood and Rockford Hills.
  • “Motorboating” (Sea Race): A good motorboating is all anyone wants for Valentine’s Day. Take your love for a trip around buoys and over jumps to the North of Mount Gordo.
  • “Heart Breaker” (Bike Race): Make your feelings known by carving a love heart into the Grand Senora Desert. Hills and jumps in this mainly off-road lap race for bikes on a heart-shaped track.

VALENTINE’S MASSACRE SOCIAL CLUB EVENT WEEKEND
To help celebrate, we’ll be hosting a special Valentine’s Massacre Social Club Event Weekend that will include special in-game RP bonuses, Crate Drops, a live stream broadcast on Friday afternoon and much more. Stay tuned for more details later today.

10 New Rockstar Verified GTA Online Jobs

1380133864-gta-online

Recently, Rockstar challenged the GTA Online community to show them their best Races and Deathmatches during the Social Club #CreatorWeekend for a chance to win GTA$1M and an exclusive GTA Online license plate. Below you’ll find some Creator Weekend selections, along with five more community-created Jobs that will join the ranks of Rockstar Verified content as part of the continued evolution of GTA Online. Once Jobs are Rockstar Verified, they become available during Freemode sessions for players across both Xbox 360 and PS3. (Maybe one day soon on Xbox One too? Not that I am adding fuel to the fire! – Kris)

ROCKSTAR VERIFIED
Twists and Twirls
A complex but beautifully constructed point-to-point through some of Blaine County’s iconic countryside. Follow the winding roads of Vinewood Hills as you race from Galileo Observatory through to Tongva Valley. Car selection from the Sports class is key here – steer clear of the Comet’s twitchy back end or risk a fishtail festival. Tight turns and unforgiving cliff edges require deft use of the brake pedal, but don’t be afraid to go for broke when the opportunity arises.

Stars In Your Eyes
As the description so eloquently explains, this is “a tribute to the legendary track ‘Stars in Your Eyes’ in GTA IV”. Pick the fastest car in the garage for the long straightaways on one of the busiest highways in Los Santos. Although Creator blueeyedbarbi advises that “you might want to turn traffic off if your reactions aren’t quick enough”, we think it’s better to leave them on for a hair-raising drive into oncoming traffic that could leave the asphalt stained red.

Monaco Grand Prix GTA ed.
Another recreation of a famous real-world track, the Monaco Grand Prix GTA ed. contains all the features of Southern Europe’s iconic Grand Prix race track: empty urban streets, a seafront setting, high end cars, a tricky hairpin, and two unforgiving chicanes that will slingshot you into the race lead, or through your own windshield.

Casal Dos Ferros Race
A track for the Online racing purist. No novelty factors, no sneaky tricks, no unwelcome distractions – this is raw and unadulterated driving where timing is everything and winning is decided on milliseconds and inches. Use slipstreams to push yourself into the lead and don’t look back, particularly as you hurtle towards the water on the final straight down Del Perro Pier… and definitely don’t blink.

Classy Construction
Amongst the mansions of Vinewood Hills, a new build is going up bringing downtown construction workers into uptown ‘hoods. Tensions arise between these two tribes, and isolated firefights break out across the elevated terrain. High walls and high end cars allow for a variety of maneuvers in this tricky Deathmatch. We recommend taking the sniper rifle to the top of the mansion turrets or seek out the minigun and own the streets.

Rockstar Verified #Creatorweekend Selections
4 Way Madness
This tight Downtown track is spread over four blocks and built for aerial mayhem. 4 Way Madness forces players to jump cross each others paths through a central airborne death zone, flying through mid-air in four different directions. Creator  gangsterpdp has placed gas tanks beneath the airspace to ensure that any collision results in instant death. Be sure to max out the starting grid, and then wait until the pack thins out for the carnage to begin. So deliciously cruel and marvelously cunning we couldn’t help but select gangsterpdp for the GTA$1M as well as an exclusive CRE8R license plate.

Crastenburg Drifting Race
French-Canadian Creator  WoriedNiko recommends turning the rain on to get the full experience from this tight, twisting race constructed across several parking lots near Los Santos International. Barrels and containers have been carefully positioned to create a series of on-a-dime turns and unforgiving chicanes best navigated via finessed tapping of the handbrake to throw out the back end of your ride into a controlled, smooth drift. For designing a race that brilliantly focuses on a specific racing technique, WoriedNiko gets the TOP CRE8R license plate and GTA$1M.  Trés bien!

Laguna Seca Remake
Previously featured on the  Rockstar Newswire as a Job that caught our eye, we gave GTAVDriver a Rockstar Verified stamp of approval this week so that players on both platforms can enjoy this painstakingly detailed recreation of Southern California’s famous Laguna Seca raceway. Bookmark it now for long straights and tight 270 degree turns that will challenge all your skills as a driver. The aptly named GTAVDriver also lands himself a NO1CRE8R License Plate and GTA$1M to spend on high end cars to throw around the track.

Paradise Ally
unseenchaos26, recipient of a THECRE8R license plate, warns that the law of the urban jungle reigns supreme in his well-crafted Deathmatch amongst the warehouses  high-walled street alley littered with heavy weapons, heavy armor and multiple entry points force you to keep moving, so campers be warned! The audacious play is to snag an ATV from the perimeter, and charge through the burnt out cars and buses into the central corridor to try and spring a surprise attack. When the coast is clear climb the ladder to the top of the warehouse overlooking the old motel and pick off your respawned enemies from above.

Terry’s Hangout
The only #CreatorWeekend selection set outside of Los Santos, eponymous creator  terrynut6969 scoured the Blaine County landscape to find this cluster of buildings set around a small airport hangar.  terrynut6969 has earned his I CRE8 license plate by cleverly splitting the space using wrecked buses that not only fit the derelict environment but create dynamic pathways and cover areas that set up brutal head-to-head showdowns. The added cover allows for surprise attacks using assault shotguns spread throughout the map, while isolated king-of-the-hill skirmishes will decide who owns the coveted positions atop the hangar and the air traffic control tower. Best enjoyed beneath the cold blue desert moonlight.

And some small print from Rockstar: Please note, in addition to occasionally changing Job names due to taste, copyright or other reasons – we also from time to time will make other small edits to players’ Jobs before making them Rockstar Verified. This includes, but is not limited to modifying spawn points, improving checkpoints or increasing/decreasing the amount of weapon picks ups for a particular Job

GTA V Online : Free Editor now Live with latest Title Update

GTA-Online

The free Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta update for GTA Online is now available for Xbox 360. Just download the latest automatic title update to gain access to some of the same tools our own game design and development teams use to craft custom skirmishes and races in any of the following modes:

  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Race
  • GTA Race
  • Rally Race

To get started, access the Creator option from the Online tab of the pause menu. From here, you can start creating your own custom Deathmatches & Races or load and edit a previous creation. From there, you can check out a brief tutorial before you fully dive in (which we highly recommend).

In Deathmatch Creator, you can set Weapon and Armor locations in addition to Spawn Points.

Deathmatch
You can create free-for-all or team variant modes; find your Deathmatch location anywhere in Los Santos or Blaine county, then drop the Trigger Location, where players will meet up to play your Deathmatch. Control the pace of your custom match with gameplay options Team Start Points and Spawn Points. With the operational foundation laid, dig into a full suite of Weapons and Vehicle customization; all weapon and vehicle classes are at your disposal to place around your Deathmatch. You can also drop Props like containers and ramps, to create hot spots for gunfights, more cover, or maybe you just want a few Sanchez dirt bikes to go airborne in the middle of a gunfight.

Customize the number of racers and the size of the starting grid.

Races
Get started with a working knowledge of race creation by playing through the tutorial and building a land race. Once you’ve successfully published your first Land Race, both Sea and Air Races will be available for creation. In the Race Creator you can set the basics; Race Type (Race, GTA Race, Rally Race) and Route Type (Laps or Point to Point), number of players, starting grid size, vehicle class and more. Once you’ve set the basics, the full map becomes your racing paradise – take your land, air and sea races anywhere you want them to go. Add stunt jumps with custom cameras, create obstacles, and take your opponents on your dream (their hell) ride through Los Santos and Blaine County.

Add checkpoints to map out the route in created Races. Once you’ve finished, you’ll be prompted to test your Deathmatch or Race against computer controlled characters – completing a valid test before you publish your creation ensures your race is working perfectly, and will prevent you from publishing (or playing someone else’s) broken match. Published creations appear inside your GTA Online session and on the Rockstar Social Club (a linked Social Club account is required to use the Creator). We’ll also be periodically reviewing the best community-created content to recognize and distinguish them as Rockstar Verified.

Capture a photo of your creation that will be seen in-game and on the Social Club website.

Along with the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta, the latest automatic title update has a host of new fixes and updates for Grand Theft Auto V’s Story Mode and GTA Online, including the flexibility to create weapon-locked deathmatches, giving players the ability to run inside their apartments and higher cash payouts when increasing the difficulty on Missions.

Rockstar have given further details on the GTA Online Stimulus pack which players had been expecting two weeks ago and looks as though they will be waiting at least another week for it to land. Rockstar announced the following via their support blog:

Thank you to everyone for joining in GTA Online throughout this first month of its release, for all of your awesome Online Snapmatic pics and Crew videos that we’ve spotted, for your patience and understanding as we’ve been working through the initial teething issues of launching an online experience like this, and for your excellent feedback to the official GTAOnline@rockstargames.com email address. We’ll be keeping our eye open for exceptional ones that we’ll be stamping as ‘Rockstar Verified’ and will be featuring them here at the Newswire and as part of forthcoming GTA Online Social Club Events. Both the Content Creator and the Beach Bum Pack are free.

GTA Online – Rockstar Confirm That Lost Characters Cannot Be Recovered

rockstar-logo

Last Friday, Rockstar announced steps to compensate players of GTA Online for the multiple technical issues suffered since the mode launched October 1st. Anyone who plays GTA Online during October will be eligible to receive a $500,000 payout which will be split into two payments of $250,000 in order to prevent breaking the in game economy.

Today, Rockstar also confirmed that those players who reported the loss of online characters and their progression status are sadly not recoverable, and the $500,000 pay out is a way to get their replacement characters “back on their feet”, also an update as to when more in game tasks such as Hiests may be made available:

Hi everyone,
For those that are still having any technical issues, as mentioned above there is a title update coming next week that will include more fixes including the vehicle loss one – and we will remain committed to continuing to fine-tune the game to address any and all issues to get GTA Online running as smooth as possible. Please remember to visit the Rockstar Support site at http://support.rockstargames.com for the latest info or to report your problem if you don’t see it there.
For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we’re giving out this month will help you get back on your feet or to make your new life in Los Santos & Blaine extra sweet.
For those asking about other forthcoming GTA Online content such as Heists, those are indeed in the works and we hope to provide an update with release timing soon.
Thanks all
