Sony has recently announced that the total sales of Playstation 4’s around the globe is a staggering and impressive 7 Million Units globally. Microsoft has come forward and announced that they have sold more than 5 Million Units around the globe – this puts the Playstation 4 at a 2 Million lead!
Whilst both consoles have done amazingly well already, it is worth realising that the Playstation 4 is available in over 48 markets compared to the Xbox One’s 13 markets. The Xbox One will be available in an extra 26 markets from September 2014 as previously announced on the Wire.
- Czech Republic
- Saudi Arabia
- South Africa
Whilst first impressions give the PS4 a more successful launch, a true like for like comparison will not really be available until after Fall 2014 when both consoles are on sale in the same territories. Not that we want to give Micorsoft any sales advice, but maybe try price matching the Playstation 4 when launching in all those other territories later this year?
We’ll keep you posted on the outcome.
