Siegecraft Commander gameplay details revealed

Blowfish Studios, makers of Siegecraft Commander, an action strategy hybrid, have released a tutorial video showing actual gameplay details and I have to say it looks great.

As the video depicts, players begin with a single tower known as the Keep, the starting point for all attacks and exploration. Much like the goal of taking the opponent’s king in a game of chess, Siegecraft Commander’s objective is destroy your opponent’s Keep while protecting your own.  If a player’s Keep is destroyed, the opposing player or A.I. controlled faction wins. Players will have the option of single-player which focuses on real-time play or PVP where you can choose tactical turn-based or action-packed RTS gameplay. Whats more Siegecraft Commander will offer cross-platform support, allowing windows and Xbox One gamers to face off against each other.

Siegecraft Commander is due for release in Q2 2016 for the Xbox One. Will this be on your list of games to try?

The Siegecraft series has been around for a little while now, on various platforms. It’s soon to make it’s debut on the Xbox One, with an added twist.

As part of Microsoft’s vision to integrate Windows and the gaming power of the Xbox One, Siegecraft Commander will allow gamers to utilise cross-device play.

The aim of the game is to create the ultimate medieval fortress and wreak havoc and destruction on your enemies with tower flinging fun. You’ll need to plan the location of your towers to be able to outmanoeuvre your opponent. Luckily, the strategic elements are easy to learn so you should be victorious in next to no time.

The game will include multiplayer modes, where you could team up, have a free-for-all, a real-time battle or a turn based assault mode.

Here’s the release trailer from E3 last year, what do you think?

This isn’t the only game that will feature cross-device play, with Super Dungeon Bros from React! Games also featuring cross-device play on Windows 10 devices.

With the Windows wireless adapter for the Xbox One controller announced by Xbox supremo Phil Spencer too, Microsoft really is heading towards a true gamer-based experience with the Xbox and Windows 10 devices. Can other consoles really compete with that?
