Call of Duty WWII multiplayer beta content confirmed

Activision have confirmed what will be included in the Call of Duty WWII beta, which kicks off this weekend on PS4, with Xbox One owners able to join the fight the following weekend.

“We love the active dialog we have with the Call of Duty community, and value the exchange of ideas and constructive feedback we have with fans. Your feedback will help us finalize features, optimize gameplay balance, and refine the remaining development roadmap to launch. So please explore, rank up, and have fun. Share as much feedback as you can – everything helps. The development team will be playing non-stop, and we’ll be monitoring performance and collecting valuable data around the clock.”

There will be three maps in the beta – Ardennes Forest, Gibraltar and Pointe du Hoc – which you can preview in the below trailers.

Players who have managed to get a code by pre-ordering or winning a code will be able to play through Call of Duty’s new War mode where the Allies clash with the Axis forces to fight over attack and defend objectives – when it’s written like that it sounds and awfully lot like Battlefield doesn’t it?

Other modes included in the beta include Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint.

Only time will tell whether WWII is a return to the form of Modern Warfare or play more like something that EA and DICE would publish, while this weekend is a beta, many will judge the final product on what they experience – bugs and all.

Call of Duty WWII private beta kicks off this week

The Call of Duty: WWII private beta kicks off this weekend on PS4, with Xbox One joining the battle the following weekend. Activision will be deploying the keys required to download the game ‘closer to the beta launch’, but just how do you ensure that you get one?

It’s pretty simple really… pre-order the game.

I’m sure the usual suspects on twitter will also be on hand to give out bonus codes and you can count on the villainy of eBay who are looking to make a quick buck by flogging codes, but the easiest way is just to order a copy of the game — if you’re reading this — we both know you will end up buying one anyway.

The beta kicks off at 10am PST August 25 for PS4, ending at 10am PST August 28. The following weekend both PS4 and Xbox One can take part in the beta, which starts at 10am PST September 1 and ends at 10am PST September 4.

Digital pre-orders won’t require a code for the beta, once available, the beta can be directly downloaded from the store, although pre-loading hasn’t yet been confirmed. If you ordered through your favourite retailer, then your code should land in your email sometime this week.

Advanced Warfare sees Xbox exclusivity one last time

advanced warfare new guns

Earlier this month the last expansion pack ‘Reckoning’ was released and was to be the last time Xbox players would see the Call of Duty early exclusivity we had enjoyed for years. This week Sledgehammer have thrown gamers one last piece of DLC set to release August 25th, a new set of weapons and the third and final set of Royalty Varient. Two fan favourite weapons are making a return to the series, the AK47 and M16 Assault Rifles, also joining the multiplayer gun roster is the CEL-3 Cauterizer from Exo-Zombies. These weapons will be available for all players on Xbox One first and will come to PC and PS4 after.

The Exo Grapple Playlist makes a return in multiplayer mode and is available to use in all Reckoning DLC maps.

The Exo Zombies Finale is here in part 4 Descent, find out what the real secret Atlas has been hiding all this time. “Oz”

If you have not invested in Advanced Warfare the season pass is still available on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and is a cheaper option to buying everything separately.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare offer Supremacy

COD4AWDLC

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have announced their third DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will hit the Xbox platform as a timed exclusive on the 2nd of June.

Called Supremacy, this will add four new maps, Skyrise, Compound, Kremlin and Parliament.

Skyrise is a revamped version of Modern Warfare’s ‘Highrise’, only transplanted to 2054, while Compound is a smaller symmetrical map set in a Colorado wilderness. Kremlin is a medium sized affair, set in the Kremlin and Parliament is a medium map set on a military cargo ship on the River Thames.

The Exo-Zombie’s third episode also drops in this DLC, called Carrier. This adds a new star to the already stellar cast as The Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell brings along new weapons and Sentinel support squads to battle the episode’s new enemies.

Would you like a glimpse of the new content? Of course you would.

Don’t forget, the pack will be available from 2nd of June and will be available separately or if you’ve got the Season Pass, you’ll have already paid.

Advanced Warfare Championship Pack now out, it’s pretty fancy

image-10-copy-620x360

Call of Duty Championship 2015 takes place in just a few months time and to help build a lil’ bit of hype, Sledgehammer Games have just dropped a brand new pack of skins revolving around the tournament and it’s now available on Xbox Live.

For just $3.99, you can get your hands on the premium Championship 2015 bundle which contains a themed exoskeleton, weapon camouflages, calling card, helmet and reticules. Best of all? It’s covered in gold from top to bottom, as you can see above.

I think this is one of the first times in Call of Duty history where the gold gun camo is well, actually gold, unlike past attempts which have been mustard/off yellow colour.

If that isn’t enough, you can also purchase additional create-a-class and armory slots which add tonnes of new room for just $1.99 a piece.

Disappointingly, Activision have yet to detail whether any of the money from these pack will go towards the Championship 2015 prize pool, similar to what plenty of other eSport tournaments have done in the past.

Randall Higgins is the man, the KillCameraman and he gets himself into some rather amusing situations in order to grab those kill cams. Of course the main attraction is a look at the Havoc DLC – the first DLC pack for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.

Available to download from January 27, the DLC includes four new maps, bonus weapons and Exo Zombies – the new co-op mode that could almost be a stand alone game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Banhammer Incoming

call of duty advanced warfare

Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Michael Condrey has taken to the companies official blog to address an ongoing and increasing problem that is affecting Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare community.

Michael Condrey has detailed that players who partake in what is known as ‘reverse boosting’ will soon be clobbered by the mighty metaphorical banhammer.

If you’re not quite sure what reverse boosting is, let me give you a semi-detailed explanation: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare uses a skill based matchmaking system which overall leads to fairer and more equal matches taking place but unfortunately, some players are abusing this system by intentionally killing themselves/feeding the enemy team, forcing their ‘skill rating’ to go down, ruining the experience for everyone.

In other words, if you play like an ass and ruin other players experience, just so you can play against people worse than you, a ban will most likely be heading your way very soon. Always great to see a company continue to support its game and remove toxic players from online play.
