I love to see indie developers get their wares out to the console-crazy masses. Manchester-based Alex Rose Games is one such developer. Alex has been making games and entering them into the Ludum Dare competitions for a while now and a game series called Rude Bear has been entered by him on a regular basis.
Alex has decided to make the the ultimate Rude Bear title and it’s coming to Xbox One.
Super Rude Bear Resurrection’s hero, Rude Bear, is a gangster bear from East London. He’s been summoned back in time to medieval England by his mortal nemesis, The Wizard. While there, he will be forced to overcome challenges that are so lethal, he’ll probably need to be resurrected hundreds of times to stand even the slightest chance of getting out.
The key feature of this frantic platformer is the fact that every time Rude Bear dies, he leaves his corpse behind, which can be used as a platform, paperweight or meatshield that you can use to prevent you from dying on that same hazard again.
Each time Rude Bear cops it, the game gets a little easier too, until it reaches a level that the player is comfortable in beating. You could, of course, always try to complete the game without dying.
Here’s a trailer, to give you an idea what it looks like in practice.
Super Rude Bear Resurrection will be coming to Xbox One soon.
