If you were expecting to be graced with the presence of Grand Theft Auto V at this years E3 2013 expo, then quite frankly you’ll be disappointed as both Rockstar Games and 2K will not showcase this on the show floor.
Take-Two Interactive (owner of both Rockstar and 2K Games) President Karl Slatoff confirmed in an earnings call that “both Rockstar Games and 2K have instead decided to focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer. Our team, however, will be present at the show, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.”
It’s not just GTA V that will unavailable at the show as all other upcoming titles from 2K Games will not be present either. With such an emphasis on next-gen at this years E3 2013, it’s disappointing to learn that 2K will not be unveiling anything at the show for next-gen systems. However, maybe a few “marketing” surprises could be in the works during the same timeframe.
We’ll keep you updated.
