Publisher Wired Productions will be bringing Italian developer LKA.it’s award-winning psychological adventure The Town of Light to Xbox One later this year.
This will be an enhanced version of the original PC release, offering new puzzles, additional story elements, reworked voiceover dialogue, more interactive elements and a huge graphical and UI overhaul that aims to deliver a more polished and immersive experience.
Winner of the indieDB Editor’s Choice 2015 award for “Best Visuals”, and Game Connection Paris 2014 for “Best Narrative”, The Town of Light is a first-person, psychological story-driven adventure game set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum – a former mental treatment facility based in Tuscany, Italy. The asylum was shut down in the late 1970s due to an Italian law that instructed all asylums to close completely and give back patients their civil rights.
Italian developer LKA with support from Id@Xbox have announced that their psychological adventure The Town of Light will be coming to the Xbox One this year.
The Town of Light takes place in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum (a real place), in Italy,1938, and puts you in the eyes of Renée, a 16 year old girl who’s locked up and deprived of everything after suffering symptoms of mental illness. Exploring and interacting with the carefully reconstructed environment based on extensive research and real facts, you will relive the history of Renée through her confused viewpoint and on the basis of your choices, the story will develop in different ways.
In preparation for the games release later this year on Xbox One Renee’s diary has been published online. In this diary she remembers her life before the events described in the game allowing players to gain insight in to the Town of Light before the games official launch.
