The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Xbox One 1080p gameplay footage

Witcher_3_Wild_Hunt

On the back of requests for console footage we recieved earlier today an email message from our friends at Evolve PR letting us know there is some brand new footage of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt running on Xbox One using dynamic scaling from 900p to 1080p. The introduction reads as:

The video you’re now watching is grabbed directly from an Xbox One console. We’ve been working to give gamers an even better experience on Xbox One and, on day 1, we’ll bring you dynamic scaling from 900p to 1080p. We’re not much more than a week before launch, but we’re still fighting for every line of code — we want gamers to get the best possible experience we can deliver.

Here’s the footage. Let us know your thoughts below.

Arkham Knight trailer shows off returning characters and more

Batman-Arkham-Knight-e3-6

Earlier today the trailer below leaked ahead of its release, it seems to be the in thing at the moment, Warner Brothers have now officially lifted the lid on the “All who follow you” trailer and it looks awesome!

If you’re trying to keep a closed lid on everything Dark Knight, then you may want to avoid this trailer, as it shows of a load of characters and some really neat new stuff.

Right, so there’s the spoiler alert klaxon sounded… now on to the awesome stuff. The trailer shows off some great new features, like co-op take downs, something that Rocksteady said wouldn’t happen. It does however look like they’ve taken on board feedback from community forums and made it to be an AI controlled co-operative skull mashing rather than the standard local/online co-op that we all know and love.

There are also returning characters such as Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing who played parts in the previous Arkham games. You may also spot Azrael lighting up Gotham’s skyline with rooftop fires.

The trailer still leaves a lot of questions, which is good, I can’t wait to get my hands on it when it releases in June.

New Mad Max trailer revealed

Mad Max Featured Image

For me time is dragging. I know it won’t be long, but waiting until September 4th for Mad Max is driving me a little crazy. If like me you are a fan of the road warrior movies, then maybe this gameplay overview trailer from Warner Bros. & Avalanche Studios will help.

The trailer provides a glimpse into the desperate struggle Max faces after losing it all – his family, his car, his sanity – and the steps he must take to survive in the harsh and desolate Wasteland. For the first time, we get an extended look at the deep car customization, metal grinding vehicular combat, brutal melee combat and a wide range of other activities we can engage in during our quest to build the ultimate survival vehicle, the Magnum Opus, and find solace in the Plains of Silence. All footage in the trailer is in-engine, comprised of actual game play and in-game cinematics. Sweeeeeet.

So, sit back and enjoy.

GameLoading: Rise of the Indies

Capture

It’s taken three years of shooting, performing interviews and post production but this new film exploring the rise of the growing indie community was released earlier this week.

The film itself was a Kickstarter success story having successfully leveraged the crowdfunding platform. Gameloading: Rise of the Indies takes an up close and personal look at a group of diverse indie developers as they seek to create new experiences and find a place within this evolving sector and art form.

Interviews include John Romero (Doom, Quake), Davey Wreden (The Stanley Parable), Rami Ismail (studio Vlambeer), Zoe Quinn (Depression Quest) and many more.

As well as being available to purchase via the Xbox Video store you can also grab it from Steam, iTunes, Humble Store and Gameloading.tv. In addition to this a limited collection of DVD and Blu-ray copies will be available for sale at www.gameloading.tv from May 2015. One to definitely add to my collection.

What is Red Awakening?

Red Awakening Featured

Our friends over at Domino Effect Ltd have released a new trailer, with a twist. It’s a live-action ‘Interrogation’ trailer, helping to introduce this new team-based multiplayer stealth action title coming soon for PC, Xbox One and other platforms.

Red Awakening is set to be a mix of games similar to the original Thief, TimeSplitters2 (what a game that was!), but with added team-based gameplay similar to classic Counter-Strike. Domino Effect Ltd are also proud to say that the games style is influenced by slasher movies from the likes John Carpenter (Ghosts of Mar, Vampires, Halloween) and Dario Argento (Dracula 3D, Demons).

As well as releasing this new trailer, Domino Effect Ltd have also launched a brand new Kickstarter campaign. Look out for our ‘TiX crowdfunding spotlight’ this Sunday for more details on that!

The Interrogation video has been a real labour of love for Domino Effect and we feel that it perfectly captures the anarchic spirit of the game as well as a bloody nod to our slasher horror movie inspirations. So far the development of Red Awakening has been entirely self-funded, but we’re now turning to Kickstarter for the necessary support to help us complete the final stages of development.

said Rob Peall, Game Director @ Domino Effect.

Additional details from the press release:

Red Awakening blends neon drenched environments, satirical storytelling, first-person dynamic stealth, parkour style movement, drug induced power-ups, ultra-violent gameplay and an unnerving “Carpenter-esque” synth soundtrack. The visceral package is all wrapped up in Domino Effect’s distinctive cell-shaded graphical style.

Set during the aftermath of the Vietnam War in the mid-1970s, Red Awakening depicts a United States in turmoil. The youth are out of control, with » Continue Reading.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Stand Announce Honoka!

dead-or-alive-5-last-round

Techmo Koei has announced a new fighter for the upcoming fighter, Dead or Alive 5: Last Stand. The fighter is a said to be a sweet 18-year-old girl. As you can see from the trailer, she’s not so sweet when she’s in a fight.

Honora has the power to learn any move, which – I’m assuming – makes her the Ditto of the Dead or Alive world? Like most characters in this game she has a back story. Raised by her grandmother, Honora’s gift of coping fight moves has been kept secret. She has her own unique style of fighting that she calls “Honoka-Fu”.

The trailer below show’s off this “Sweet” 18-year-old girl as she takes down some of the regular DoA fighters.

Dead or Alive 5: Last stand will be a digital copy only on the Xbox 360, while releasing  on both digital and physical  for the Xbox One on 20 February, 2015!
