The Evil Within 2 new trailer released called “The Twisted, Deadly Photographer”

The Evil Within 2 is coming to Xbox on 13th October 2017 and Bethesda has just released a new trailer called The Twisted, Deadly Photographer.

Not only will Sebastian have to contend with the myriad horrific creatures waiting for him in The Evil Within 2, he’ll also have to deal with the human “monsters” who have made their way into the new STEM world. Wretched creatures like Stefano Valentini, an artist with dark proclivities and unbounded imagination. You’ll see examples of his work scattered throughout Union – from grisly photographs of his victims, to the “moment of death” tableaus he creates, capturing the last seconds of a person’s life in a tangible, looping scene.

After losing his eye in an explosion during his time as a war photographer, Stefano rapidly descended into madness. His newfound “vision” drove him to become fascinated by the precise instant when death takes a person – that split second in time when people are, in his opinion, at their most open and most beautiful. Stefano returned home from the war with a newfound purpose. But he wouldn’t wait for these perfect moments to arise on their own. Why should he, when he could orchestrate those final breaths? One victim became two, and soon enough he had become a serial killer, photographing each of his victims’ faces at the exact moment of their demise.

But the real world could never appreciate his talents. Stefano was hunted, until he found himself in this STEM world – a world of “pure creation.” A world he could shape to suit his own desires. And Lily is the key to unlocking the potential of this world.

And he’s not alone in his endeavors. Born from an untethered and immoral imagination and sculpted from blood and bone and flesh, Obscura is one of Stefano’s greatest masterpieces. Somewhere inside of Obscura is a story from another life, long before Stefano ever even learned of the existence of STEM – a story you’ll have to uncover for yourself as you explore Union and discover more about the twisted artist behind some of the horrors hunting you.

Daughter Channels Loss as an Inspiration for Life is Strange: Before the Storm’s Emotionally Charged Soundtrack

As someone who connects with music – game and film soundtracks in particular – the latest video from Daughter and Life is Strange: Before the Storm gives me positive vibrations for the upcoming game release. This video follows on from the news that Adrian reported yesterday, which provides another sample of the incredible work that Daughter, the British indie folk trio, are creating for Before the Storm. You can pre-order the soundtrack over here if you so wish!

You’ll be able to play Episode 1 of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, entitled ‘Awake’, on August 31st. In the mean time, why not listen to the first song from their Before the Storm album on Spotify – which has just launched on the Xbox One and Xbox One S.

For Honor Competitive Multiplayer “Hero Series” announced

Ubisoft have announced For Honor Hero Series, an international tournament program organised in partnership with ESL, taking place this summer starting 8th July across all platforms in Europe and the United States. Following the weekly competitions, 16 of the top players will participate in a live event on August 12th in Burbank, California where they will play for $10,000 in cash prizes.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios, For Honor offers an engaging campaign and thrilling multiplayer modes. Players embody warriors of the three Great Factions – the bold Knights, the brutal Vikings and the deadly Samurai – fighting to the death on intense and believable melee battlefields. The Art of Battle, the game’s innovative combat system that puts players in total control of their warriors, allows them to utilize the unique skills and combat style of each hero to vanquish all enemies who stand in their way.

This first For Honor Hero Series aims to take the game’s competitive landscape to a new level with an open call for players to join online weekly 1v1 Duel tournaments across the three available platforms over four weeks. Starting July 8th, registered players will earn points based on their rankings following each tournament. Top players from each platform will be selected based on overall tournament standings and invited to battle in a Live Finals event where platform champions will be crowned in Burbank, CA.

The Finals will be broadcasted live on the For Honor Twitch channel (twitch.tv/forhonorgame), For Honor’s Facebook Live, as well as on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/ubisoft), providing players the opportunity to showcase their skill on the big stage. The For Honor Hero Series will continue to grow following this first competition while listening to the community and participant feedback. To learn more about the For Honor Hero Series and register for online qualifiers, please visit: forhonorgame.com/heroseries.

“At ESL we are committed to growing the esports landscape and For Honor’s competitive ecosystem has been something we’ve all been looking forward to,” said Sean Charles, VP of Publisher and Developer Relations, ESL. “With the For Honor Hero Series and the addition of ranked mode, there is a lot in store for future For Honor players.”

For Honor’s competitive play will continue following the Hero Series when ranked mode releases in a future update. Ranked mode will initially offer on-demand tournaments for Duel. In future updates, the ranking system will expand to Brawl as well as 4v4 game modes. For Honor’s ranking system will allow players to have separate ranks for each game mode type while fighting for higher rankings and win exclusive loot. Those looking to get a sneak peek at ranked mode and more about the game’s future evolution can participate in the upcoming second Public Test for Duel Tournament, which will incorporate community feedback and changes to the defensive meta.

We got a brief glimpse of Conan Exiles on Xbox at Microsoft’s E3 press briefing, but it was very brief and we didn’t get to hear from the developer and publisher, Norwegian based Funcom. In case you have been living under a rock for the past year, you will all know that Trove is a free-to-play MMO on the Xbox One, and it gets its first major console update with the release of the Megalithic update on June 27th!

The Megalithic Update adds hours of new content with the Dino Tamer class, Jurassic Jungle biome, new mini-games, custom maps, and other features that expand the open world feel of Trove, which now has over 5 million players on consoles.

Players looking to craft, create, and battle their way through Trove will find the following new features in the Megalithic Update:

With the ability to use darts, snares and summon dinosaurs to attack or mount, the Dino Tamer is a player’s best bet at surviving prehistoric threats.
  • The Jurassic Jungle Biome – The new lush wilderness environment is full of dangerous dinosaurs and deadly dungeons. From dense jungle floor to towering canopies, the Jurassic Jungle biome features distinct enemies to fight and tons of dungeons to conquer. As players battle their way through this blast from the past, they will pick up all new styles and recipes to bring that extra retro look to the modern Trovian. • Minigames – At the top of the hour, players may find a portal in the Hub leading to one of two types of minigames – Racing and Coin Collecting – which offer more options for players looking to complete Hourly Challenges. Trovians who love a creative building challenge may now also build custom minigame maps within their own Club Worlds, invite other players to try out their custom club maps and vie for high scores and bragging rights.
  • More Free Content – Beginning with the Megalithic Update, Trovians can log in every day and receive a daily login bonus chest just for signing into Trove. Chaos Chests will also now drop for free just by playing the game, meaning players will have even more materials to use with the brand new Chaos Crafter bench to craft new costumes, allies, mounts and Class Unlockers.

F1 2017 announces Williams Cars as their next Classic Racers

Williams has become the latest racing team to have classic cars replicated in F1 2017 which is coming from Codemasters on August 25th 2017. The two cars announced are:

  • 1992 Williams FW14B – Driven by Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese during the 1992 Formula 1 season, the FW14B was the dominant car in which Mansell won the Drivers’ Championship, with a then record breaking nine wins in the season.
  • 1996 Williams FW18 – The most successful car of the 1996 season, winning 12 of the 16 races, with Damon Hill triumphing eight times to Jacques Villeneuve’s four, winning Hill the Drivers’ Championship title, and Williams the Constructors’ Championship.

This brings the total number of classic cars in F1 2017 up to 8 (as below), with 4 more still to be announced.

  • 1988 McLaren MP4/4
  • 1992 Williams FW14B
  • 1995 Ferrari 412 T2
  • 1996 Williams FW18
  • 2002 Ferrari F2002
  • 2004 Ferrari F2004
  • 2007 Ferrari F2007
  • 2010 Red Bull Racing RB6

Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principal, Williams Racing said: “The FW14B is one of our most iconic cars and one of my personal favourites. With Nigel Mansell behind the wheel, it was a force to be reckoned with and provided one of our greatest eras as a team in Formula One. The FW18 of 1996 is statistically our most successful ever car, winning 12 out of 16 races, six of which were one-two finishes, on our way to securing the Constructors’ title. We are delighted that these cars are being included in this year’s new F1 game for 2017. It is a special year for us as we celebrate our 40th anniversary, so a perfect moment to celebrate two cars that we are so proud of at Williams. We hope that gamers will love driving them as they remember some great moments from the history of our sport.”

Watch Dogs and Dragon Age Origins now available on Games With Gold

Its reached June 16th (just where is this year going?), which means that 2 new Games With Gold are available for that magic price of FREE!

This time, its Watch Dogs and Dragon Age Origins that are available, and by my reckoning thats at least 200 hours of gaming for zero pounds. Watch Dogs took a little bit of criticism on release but I played it to death on release and loved it. Dragon Age Origins, although not my cup of tea, was critically acclaimed.

Links to the 2 games on Xbox.co.uk can be found here – Watch Dogs and Dragon Age Origins.

And don’t forget the awesome Speedrunners is still available if you are after some 4 player insane multiplayer action! Link here – Speedrunners.

Space Hulk : Deathwing announces Return to Olethros DLC

What do we all love? FREE content, thats what! It is quickly becoming the new alternative to paid DLC. However, the smarter ones amongst you will realise that Space Hulk: Deathwing is not even out yet on Xbox. However, the game, by developer Streumon Studio, is slated for a console release in Q4 2017 and all content released up to then on Steam, including Return to Olethros, will be included in the games “Enhanced Edition” launch on console.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is a First-Person Shooter experience of Games Workshop’s classic Space Hulk boardgame, set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000. Space Hulk: Deathwing offers players the chance to experience a desperate battle against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk, as they will gain skills, new abilities and new equipment thanks to experience earned during perilous missions. Space Hulks drift along the currents of the Warp, the immaterial dimension of Chaos. Made up of gigantic mangled asteroids, derelict ship wrecks and other spatial debris, they sometimes grow to the size of a moon and often contain treasured and ancient lost technologies. However, they are ripe with danger including infestations of the lethal Genestealers. Players take on the role of a Space Marine from one of the most secret and most feared Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels. Strap on your Terminator armour and equip the emblematic weaponry of the Space Marines to overcome the threats awaiting you in the Space Hulk. As a Librarian, you will also master the destructive powers of the Psykers. Your skills and performance in battle grant you Fervor Points, to spend on 4 skill trees allowing you to improve your abilities, unlock new powers, access powerful relics and devastating new weapons.

The Return to Olethros update brings the well-received Special Missions mode to every Chapter in the game, in both solo and multiplayer. This mode generates randomised objectives and enemy spawns, bringing a new level of uncertainty and replayability for even the most seasoned squads of Space Hulk veterans.
