The eagled-eyed team over at Fusible has noticed that Take-Two Interactive have registered domain names that look set to be used for online marketing campaigns with their upcoming title – Bioshock Infinite.
Reporting that on January 23rd, 2012, the domains DeathtotheFounders.com, DeathtotheVox.com and DeathtotheVoxPopuli.com were registered, but hidden under a Whois Privacy. Whilst the owner details remain private, the servers for the domains are listed as NS.TAKE2GAMES.COM, NS6.ROCKSTARGAMES.COM, NS5.TAKE2GAMES.COM, which belong to Take-Two Interactive.
The Vox Populi within Bioshock Infinite are a group opposing the founders of the City in the Sky, and within the game, players assumes the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt who is sent to Columbia to rescue Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a young woman imprisoned there since childhood and he later develops a relationship with her. Teaming up and augmenting his abilities with Elizabeth’s so they may escape from the city which is literally falling from the sky – DeWitt learns to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harnesses the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities.
If Take-Two were trying to remain totally anonymous over their newly registered domains, they failed badly!
