Award-winning veteran games developer and digital publishing label Team17 has today announced a partnership with UK based independent developer Ghost Town Games to publish the chaos of couch co-op cookery that is Overcooked.
The Onion Kingdom is in danger and only the very finest cooking can save it. Overcooked will see players journey through a variety of cruel and unusual kitchens on their quest to become master chefs capable of conquering an ancient edible evil which plagues the land.
You will be able to play solo or engage in the classic chaos that is local co-op for up to four players.
Game modes will include co-op or competitive challenge modes and Team17 have history with co-op. You’ll have to cook a range of different dishes, and possibly work together, in order to become the most effective and ultimate team.
Ghost Town Games are the developer behind this new title. They are a two-person team made up of ex-Frontier Developments staff, Phil Duncan and Oli De-Vine.
Phil Duncan had this to say regarding the deal;
We’re really excited to be working with Team17 to help us release Overcooked. We’ve been working on the game for over a year now and it’s just great to have the help and support of a team with 25 years’ experience that has as much love for local multiplayer gaming as we do
If you’re lucky enough to be attending MCM London Comic Con later this week, you’ll be able to see Overcooked live on the Resero Games Stage from 12pm on the 28th of May. Team17 will be showcasing the game, along with a few other titles from their upcoming range, including Worms W.M.D at 4pm.
So, when are you likely to be able to fire up the ovens? Overcooked will be heading to Xbox One later this year.
Of course, we have the announcement trailer. Here you go, extra helpings.
