The Witcher 2, ranking in at number 2 of our Top Must Have Games of 2012 and scoring a favourable 9.5/10 in our review when it was released in Europe could possibly have it’s sequel announced this year in time for E3 2013. We don’t want to get our hopes up just yet, but we’re screaming inside that this becomes a reality!
CD Projekt RED’s CEO stated in an interview a few weeks ago! Yes WEEKS! Easily missed due to the holidays, that their second triple A project will be announced in the first half of 2013 and it is nothing to do with their latest officially announced game “Cyberpunk 2077”. The news was spotted by a NeoGaf user:
Sorry for bumping but I watched an interview with the CEO of CDPR and he confirmed that The Witcher 3 (he didn’t say Witcher 3 but the second project) is much further along in development than Cyberpunk 2077 and will be announced in the first half of this year. Interview is couple of weeks old but I don’t think it was already posted here and some of you were curious which RPG will be released first.
This second triple-A project is set to feature multiplayer support as outed by a job description during July 2012, where a Multiplayer Programmer was required to work on an RPG set in a dark fantasy world. Nothing as of yet has been officially confirmed by CD Projekt RED, but we’ll keep our ears and eyes to the ground to bring the announcements when they happen.
