UPDATE: Not so “Great news” afterall since Microsoft has confirmed that the page was posted in error and Xbox One gamers will not be able to pre-download Titanfall. However, having seen the page first hand – I am still not sure if I believe Microsoft as pre-launch-downloading could be an unannounced feature from a certain dash update. It might happen eventually, and perhaps not right now – but the page specifically stated for gamers to download Titanfall on Xbox One to be able to play at 00.01 at launch.
Great news all round and hopefully a trend since this sort-of functionality has been exclusive to PC gamers, but get ready to download Titanfall – all 15GB+ of it to your Xbox One console in time for the launch on March 11th 2014. You will not be able to play before then, but this allows plenty of download time prior to launch so you’re not sat waiting around for hours on end!
Gamers who still enjoy discs at retail may attend midnight launches, but alternatively look out for the Pre Purchase activation on Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com so that when midnight strikes on March 11th, you’ll be standing in no queue and you do not even have to leave the house!
Look out for our review in due course!
