Respawn Entertainment has tonight confirmed what most Titanfall fans on the Xbox 360 have suspected, that game updates, future free modes upgrades and DLC such as the first Map Pack, Expedition, will arrive on the Xbox 360 later than the Xbox One and PC Versions of the game. The same reason that caused the release of the game on Xbox 360, that Bluepoint Games needed more times to get the port right, is being used to justify why updates and now DLC will arrive later. Expedition is due out for Xbox One and PC this month, but for Xbox 360 it will be released in June.
Their statement on Titanfall News Site reads:
Updates for the Xbox 360 will naturally follow behind similar updates for the PC and Xbox One. This timing difference is due to the same reasons that more time was needed to finish Titanfall for the Xbox 360. Respawn must first finish their additions and improvements for the Xbox One and PC, and afterwards Bluepoint can then grab the latest and update the Xbox 360 version. We’re working with Respawn and Bluepoint to streamline the process and close the gap, allowing Xbox 360 updates to be published as closely as possible to Respawn’s updates.
Right now the Bluepoint team is bringing over changes included in the Xbox One’s Content Update 2 while also working on the Expedition DLC. We asked them to split the CU2 into two parts, which includes the update to the Gooser challenge that recently went live, with the rest of the changes becoming available soon.
The first DLC for Titanfall, Expedition, is coming to the Xbox One and PC in May, and will appear on Xbox 360 in June. We’ll keep you posted on more news and info regarding Titanfall for the Xbox One, PC and Xbox 360 but until then we’ll see you on the frontier!
