Yesterday saw an update to the BBC iPlayer app on Xbox LIVE that gives you catch-up access to your favourite national BBC radio stations for the very first time on Xbox 360, including:
- BBC Radio 1
- BBC 1xtra
- BBC Radio 2
- BBC Radio 3
- BBC Radio 4
- BBC Radio 5 Live
- BBC Radio 6
- BBC Asian Network
- BBC World Service
The latest update to BBC iPlayer lets you view and listen to the most popular and featured content on each of the radio stations, while providing the ability to search by category.
That’s not all, as Xbox LIVE has introduced a range of exciting new additions and updates to its entertainment line-up this summer. Here’s a reminder:
Sky Now TV – Gold members are now able to browse Sky’s catalogue of over 1,000 films on the new Sky Now TV app on Xbox LIVE, and with prices ranging from 99p to £3.49, there’s something for everyone. Film fans can choose a £15 Sky Movies Pass offering the choice of more than 600 films, including recent blockbusters at least 12 months before they are available on similar services. Future updates to the service will also see content like Sky Sports, Sky 1 and Sky Atlantic become available as part of an entertainment package.
Netflix “Just for Kids” – Making it easier for families to browse and watch a large selection of child-friendly content, Netflix “Just for Kids” is now available for Xbox LIVE Gold and Netflix subscribers*. The new experience provides easy-to-understand search controls – meaning that kids can click and instantly watch their favourite characters from TV shows and movies. With the unique Netflix technology, each member will receive a personalised “Just for Kids” experience based on their tastes and favourites.
blinkbox – Xbox LIVE Gold Members can also now buy or rent movies from blinkbox directly from the Xbox LIVE dashboard, no blinkbox subscription needed**. Users can buy, rent or browse from the library of 10,000 titles including the latest releases using the blinkbox app, and watch them instantly via their Xbox 360 console.
We will keep you updated as more of the world’s leading entertainment providers come to Xbox and additional entertainment apps and updates launch.
