Warner Bros and DC Entertainment has announced a prequel title to the Arkham games already well-loved on the Xbox 360. A new game titled Batman: Arkham Origins is scheduled to be released worldwide 25th October, 2013.
Currently in development by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships.
Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment added that “WB Games Montréal has an incredibly talented team building upon Rocksteady’s award-winning gameplay and technology to deliver a deep, immersive, quality experience fans will love.” What we don’t know is what Rocksteady are up to now if WB Games Montréal is taking the reign in Arkham from likely hereon in?
Look out for more information in the lead up to release.
