Windows 10 universal apps coming ‘soon’ to Xbox One

News Windows 10 Xbox One

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella has reportedly confirmed that universal Windows applications (UWA) are coming soon to the Xbox One.

He confirmed whilst responding to questions at the Madrid dotNet conference, where thousands of developers are attending.

With the update to the New Xbox One Experience (NXOE) last year, the Xbox One was given the capability to run UWA, and briefly offered a glimpse of Cortana integration, as well as the addition of the new Avatars app.

Beyond favourite third-party Windows 10 applications, such as Reddit, Tweetium, Baconit, and others, this could offer up the possibility of running Office Mobile, and other light computing apps on the Xbox One.

There’s no set date as to when we can expect to see these UWA, or what we shall be seeing, but this creates multiple possibilities for the future of the Xbox One.

”Soon”. That’s what the Xbox one should be called. Backwards compatibility, check. Backwards compatible games, “soon”… At least the ones we actually want.just give us the ability to side load a slim version of Windows 10 and I might keep this paper weight.
